Camomille Shawl with Dolly

Camomille was designed by Helga Isager,  a young Danish designer who we met this summer. It is based on the traditional Victorian triangular sontag shawl. The interesting and delicate texture is created by using two weights of Isager yarn. 

Date: Saturday, September 12, from 10-12 and 1-3

Class fee: $25.00 plus materials

Student Level: intermediate

Materials: 150g each Alpaca 2 and Spinni, size 6 32" circular needle, pattern.

Icelandic Shawl with Dolly

Introduction to lace knitting. Light yet warm, this shawl sits beautifully around the shoulders. The traditional Icelandic shawl is knit from the top down, changing colors with simple pattern repeats and a lace border. Choose from a wonderful selection of colors in Brown Sheep fingering yarn for your project.

Date: Saturday September 26 from 10-12 and 1-3.

Class fee: $25.00 plus materials

Student level: intermediate
Materials: 4 balls of Nature Spun fingering wool, size 8 32" circular needle, pattern.

Fall Knit Along

Lets get together and make the all-time Churchmouse favorite Easy Folded Poncho. With or without the optional cowl collar, it is easy to knit, easy to finish, and easy to throw on.

Knit Along Kick Off Date:  Tuesday, October 6 from 6:30-8:30 pm. The Knit Along continues in all evening and daytime regularly scheduled Knitter's Clinics in October, November, and December. 

Clinics are offered Thursdays and Sundays from 2:00-4:00 pm, and Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00 pm.

Class fee: free with yarn purchase

Student level: advanced beginner

Materials: Choose from butter-soft Peruvian Alpaca, Isager Alpaca and Spinni combination, or Berroco Ultra Alpaca. Needles, size 6 or 8, depending upon the yarn used, and pattern.

Forest Friends Needle Felting with Joy and Reni 

You will love making this adorable needle-felted mushroom and hedgehog. Needle felting is easy, fun and quick. No experience is necessary. Suitable for all ages. (Children under 7 would need a parent's supervision due to the sharpness of the needle) 

Date:  Saturday October 17 from 10-12 and 1-3.
Class fee: $25 plus materials (felting needles, roving, and colored felting wool).
Student level: All levels and ages.

Scottish Hap Shawl with Dolly

Knit a traditional Shetland Hap Shawl, also used as a cover or to wrap up a wee one. The cozy lace edged square is made of a center square, framed by a simple lace repeat and finished with a lace border. The lace frame has colorful stripes which give the opportunity to express your individuality. 

Date: Saturday, October 10, 10-12 and 1-3,

Class fee: $25.00 plus materials

Materials: Mountain Meadow yarn, 4-5 skeins main color, 1 skein each of 4 contrasting colors, 40" size 8 circular needle, markers, pattern.

Student Level: Intermediate

Beginning Knitting 
This is a chance to learn basic knitting, while making a hat for yourself, a child, or a friend. Techniques include casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, decreasing, and binding off.
Dates: Wednesday evenings September 23, 30, and October 7, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Class fee: $36 plus materials ( yarn and needles)
Student level: beginner

Swing Knits Autumn Fusion Shawl with Dolly

Learn this fun and creative use of short row knitting. The technique was developed in Germany by expert knitters. The pattern we will use is by Brigitte Elliott. The unique design is made by alternating short row fields and narrow stripes. 

Date: Saturday October 24, 10-12 and 1-3 pm

Class fee: $25 plus materials

Materials: 1 ball Zauberball Crazy, 1 ball Nature Spun Fingering, 24" size 6 circular needle, pattern.

Student Level: advanced beginner/intermediate

Colorful Top-down Baby Sweater with Rosie

Let the self-striping yarn do the work in this super cute and easy garter stitch baby sweater.  The simple i-cord cast on and edging means that the neck edge and front edges are finished as you knit. No picking up stitches for either edge! Fun!

Date: Sundays, October 4 and 11 from 10-12. 

Class fee: $24 plus materials

Materials: 3 skeins Classic Elite Washable Liberty worsted wool, size 7 needles, pattern.

 Student Level: advanced beginner

Big Bad Wool Trunk Show 

We are super excited about the arrival of a very beautiful and colorful trunk show from Deep South Fiber's Big Bad Wool. We fell in love with the soft yarn and retro yet modern designs. We will be displaying the White Collection, the Crochet Collection, and an assortment of blankets from Designing Friends Collection. The trunk show travels from store to store and will be on display from late September through early October.

At Home Store Shawl and Sweater Show

Calling all knitters! For many years, our knitters have dispayed their beautiful hand knit garments in the store during the October Art Walk. Bring a favorite to display in this year's show. All garments are treated with care, and will be returned a week after Art Walk. Please remember to leave your name and phone number, as well as the pattern name and yarn used, if possible.

Event Date: Friday evening, October 2 

Drop off Dates: September 28 - Wednesday September 30.

Knitter's Clinic

Everyone is welcome to come to our free knitter's clinic every Thursday and Sunday afternoon between 2 and 4 pm, and every Tuesday evening from 6:30-8 pm. Bring your questions, a new project idea, or just stop in to knit.

Dates: Thursday and Sunday afternoons from 2:00- 4:00 pm. Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm

Class fee: Free
